Here’s a fresh batch of new photos showcasing the upcoming BlackBerry Bold 9800 slider.

Shared to the rest of the world by The BerryFix, these photos are definitely way much better than what surfaced several weeks ago. We now have a better look at its BlackBerry OS 6.0 including what appears to be a Cover Flow interface in the media player and its virtual keypad. There’s also a close-up shot of the 9800’s physical QWERTY keypad and optical trackpad.

We still don’t know when it’ll be launched, but as evidenced by this photo of it loading with an AT&T splash screen, the BlackBerry Bold 9800 is more or less confirmed to debut on this particular carrier in the US.

More importantly though, this new RIM touchscreen phone apparently won't be using SurePress anymore unlike the BlackBerry Storm and Storm 2. A step in the right direction? We think so. Apart from the new slider form factor and BlackBerry OS 6.0, the BlackBerry Bold 9800 is also expected to come with a 5-megapixel camera, WiFi, 512MB RAM,and 4GB of memory.

No details yet if it will become available in Canada, but let’s just say we won’t be surprised if one or all of the big three (Rogers, Bell, and Telus) offers this one up locally as has been this case with most of the recent BlackBerry smartphones released in the country.
