Feeling a bit envious of those across the border who can now purchase the Motorola Droid from Verizon? Well, don't be jealous anymore as we’ve just heard that the Motorola Droid is coming to Canada by way of Telus.

It will be launched as the Motorola Milestone, similar to its European GSM counterpart. Unlike the Verizon Motorola Droid, the Telus Motorola Milestone will come with 850/1900MHz North American 3G bands making it fully compatible with their new HSPA network, and more importantly, its 3.7-inch touschscreen also boasts of multi-touch support which is sorely lacking in the Droid. The rest of its specs are the same with what’s been released in the US.

The Motorola Milestone will exclusively be available on Telus in early 2010. Pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, but it is expected to be officially announced within the next couple of days. Needless to say, we can now rule out the Motorola Droid/Milestone as being the Motorola Android phone that will be debuting on Rogers next year. Telus may not have been the first to offer up an Android phone in Canada, but with the Motorola Milestone in tow, they're in a very good position to snag the bigger portion of the Android pie in the country.
