After being announced last week that it will be available within the month, the Nokia N97 NAM version is now available at Nokia flagship stores in New York and Chicago.
True to prior reports, this unlocked version will retail for $699. Unfortunately (or not), only the black version is reported to be available, but the white version can be purchased online at Nokia USA’s website. As a quick refresher, the Nokia N97 features a 3.5-inch 360×640 pixel 16M color touchscreen display, 5-megpiaxel autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss lens, LED flash and VGA recording capabilities, GPS/A-GPS, quad-band GSM/tri-band HDSPA, WiFi, TV-out, 32GB internal memory expandable via microSDHC card (up to 16GB), and a full QWERTY keypad to boot. Similar to the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and the upcoming Sony Ericsson Satio, it’s running the S60 5th edition operating system.
So, now that this one’s out in the marketpace already, which one will you be getting; the Nokia N97, Palm Pre or will you still wait for the iPhone 3GS?

That is a pricey phone. Any word on when it will be offered through a service provider? I would assume the price will be a little more reasonable then.
