Mobile Syrup

A sleek looking device with a great camera and operating system

from Mobile Syrup

The most disappointing aspects of this device revolve around the hardware, as the processor lagged at times of user input, and using the capacitive shortcut buttons, in addition to the hefty weight, thickness, and minimal screen size. The battery for the Chic performed very well, which will be very helpful when using the numerous preloaded apps. Overall, the Optimus Chic is a nice entry level Android smartphone that takes detailed pictures and provides quick and efficient online access. I hope to see future LG Optimus devices, which are tailored towards more experienced and knowle... Full review

PhoneArena

Overall, a decent handset by LG, which might deserve its Chic moniker if you are a black-on-chrome design aficionado

from PhoneArena
Aimed at the fashion-conscious consumer, the LG Optimus Chic has an appealing design with its glossy black plastic body, surrounded by a chrome-like subtle rim. What takes some points out of the design is the weight, and the fact that the touch buttons underneath the screens require significant pressure to operate properly. The Froyo experience could be smoother, and the lack of full Adobe Flash support kind of misses its purpose, but still we'd take it any day before Android 2.1. The phone does good photographs in daylight, and an average job when the lights are dim... Full review

I LOVE this phone! This is my first smart phone but it has consistently blown my mind. I would highly recommend it. I'm using Bell on the east coast of Canada. I have read several reviews about the buttons being difficult to push. I haven't found this to be true in the slightest. Maybe I have salty skin. Dunno. The interface is intuitive. The google speech recognition apps is AWESOME!! The camera is a very capable 5 MP. Installing dozens of apps doesn't seem to affect the system much. The browser if very good compared to every other phone I've had. With a bit of understanding of computers, you can set this phone up to be very personalized. The selection of apps is vast and growing incredibly fast. The downside is the potential to drain your battery extremely quick if you keep your GPS on, have a bright background, keep bluetooth on, etc. I've found it necessary to reboot my phone daily to ensure no background apps kill my battery. Keeping the usage to a minumum, the battery will last 3-4 days. On a full charge, I have been able to surf on the net and play games for about 4 hours. The screen is very responsive. (capacitive) It is quite resistant to scratches. Overall, I can't think of any reason not to get this phone for the $250 price tag. It puts a smile on my face every day, and it's been 3 months for me.

Not impressed with this phone at all

when people call me i cannot hear them, nor can they hear me. i have to hang up and call them back. screen freezes constantly, also touch buttons are either so sensitive or will not work at all. i find it near to impossible to end a phone call, because the end button rarely works.

Not a big fan, actually.

The touch interface lags, especially when using the keyboard. The spell check is almost useless. Quite disappointed by my first "smartphone".
