Acer has been out of the limelight as of late since the unveiling of their Tempo line, and we’ve pretty much given up on seeing one launched in the US this year when news broke out that their smartphone releases for the country have been postponed to 2010.

Acer F1

That was then, but now, PhoneArena reports that Acer is ready to get back into the headlines with the launching of their first Windows Mobile 6.5-device next month. The Acer F1 had already been showcased at Computex last June, and from what we here, will be among the first batch of Windows Mobile 6.5 devices that will debut come October alongside the HTC Leo. Topping this already delightful news is a retail price of £295 or $482. Not bad, eh?

Add to the mix a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 5-megapixel autofocus camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a generously-sized 3.8-inch 480x800 touchscreen display, this is just what Acer needs be more competitive in the mobile phone industry.
