We’ve already mentioned in a previous post that the App Store is now hosting at least 10,000 apps, but how many users have actually download software from Apple’s little software distribution hub?
According to Apple, the answer to that question is a convincing 300M customers and counting. That’s a pretty impressive milestone considering that just 3 months ago they were just eying the 200M mark and now, they’ve completely surpassed that.
So it shouldn’t comes as a surprise anymore if Apple’s rivals in the mobile industry such as Google with the Android and Microsoft's Windows Mobile are both trying to come up with a similar service to offer their users. The question is; will they be as successful as the App Store or is it just an effort in futility?
