Palm has every reason to be happy with their latest smartphone, the Palm Pre. It not only managed to make a successful debut in the market, but it also helped result in a good turn out for their maiden voyage into the mobile app download business.
As a matter of fact, according to Medialets, a total of 1 million apps have already been downloaded from the App Catalog. This is quite remarkable since the Palm Pre has only been available in the market for barely a month. Add the fact that there are only just 30 apps currently available at the App Catalog, this is surely an impressive feat to say the least.
With the Palm Pre rolling out in other countries and more apps to be released in the next couple of months, there’s nowhere for these figures to go but up. Palm is certainly off to a good start, and if they keep this up, there's no doubt Apple's App Store now has a worthy adversary with the App Catalog.
