While we may have closed the BlackBerry Storm chapter as far as Rogers is concerned for 2008, there’s definitely a bunch of new BlackBerry devices we can look forward to in 2009, including a 3G Storm variant. According to our source, this list isn’t final and there may be some additions down the road, but based on what we have available so far you can expect the following RIM devices to roll out next year:

• BlackBerry Curve 8900 in Q1
• BlackBerry Storm variant in Q2
• BlackBerry 9220 (Magnum, think BlackBerry Curve 8900 with 3G) in Q3
• BlackBerry 9900 (Pluto, think Bold with touch screen) in Q4

I'm guessing the Storm that will be launching in the 2Q of 2009 will be the Storm 2, while the rumored 5-megapixel BlackBerry phone could be the Pluto, since it was disclosed that it will be a fusion of the Bold and Storm. Anyway, we’ll have to wait for 2009 to get confirmation, but Storm fans will have to wait for the 2nd quarter of 2009 for it to become available.

With this preview of what Rogers has in store in 2009, will you still buy a new BlackBerry phone this year or wait for next year? Patience, as they say, is a virtue, and I can't think of a better time to exercise patience than now.
