I hate it

So much for a surprise from my husband. I received it 20 minutes ago. I just hate it. Too small, buttons are too tiny. I thinking of a way getting rid of it.

Very solid phone!

I had this phone for over a year and a half. It’s very small and light, which was the reason I bought it. Yes, the keys are small, but still easy to use; it only takes about a day or two to adjust to it. I have no complaints about the screen size or brightness, it works very well. And unlike other Sony Ericssons, this model's screen is still readable and decently clear in bright sunlight. Furthermore, it doesn’t come with a camera, but if you really want one, there’s an accessory for it, so that it can be added. =) A draw back would be that it tends to lag slightly, especially as it starts to age (but I think that’s pretty much common with all cell phones once they get old). But I was surprised to find out that the menu options and scrolling in general starts to lag and freeze occasionally after I just had it for a week! And no, it’s not because I dropped it, because my dad has the same exact model and he never dropped his, and his phone also started lagging after about a week of use. But it’s not that bad, and it only lags occasionally, so it’s not too troublesome. But overall, one the greatest things about this phone is how sturdy and well put together it is. I think I've dropped it about a couple hundred times while I had it, and even dropped it in water, and it still worked like normal! The designers of this phone made its structure very well, and it can put up with just about anything! I fully recommed this phone! =D Less

Fine phone!

This phone is great! I''ve had it for one year and i can say you i''ve never had a phone like this. Buy it if you can!, and buy the camera too!

I''ve had this phone for about a year and a half, and I''d say it''s held up remarkably well. I am really hard on my electronics, and have beaten this phone to a pulp( innumerable drops, knocks, etc.) and have had NO problems. with the hardware. for the first few months I did have some of the previously described problems such as static, dropped calls and constant time updates, but when my service provider (cingular)merged with AT&T these problems magically disappeared. since then it''s worked like a charm, and that''s been for about a year or so. it shows no signs of deterioration either, save for some cosmetic wear. I think some of the problems with the phone were due to the service provider and not the phone itself. it is slow and the screens resolution leaves something to be desired, but for a simple utilitarian cell phone I have no complaints. This phone is horrible. Got it a almost a year ago, and have wished i chose something else besides Sony Ericsson. This phone came free with my service plan, and its free probably because its a cheap phone. It came with TWO cheap games, ringtones are also cheap and annoying (Sony cant compete with Nokia''s ringtones). CONS: This phone has the worst shielding i have ever found in a piece of electronic. If u have this phone on next to other electronics (especially speakers), it will randomly generate noise and interference. Its so bad it actually caused my computers monitor to flicker and warp images when im receiving a call. Not only that, but it is EXTREMELY slow, enough to take a couple of seconds before it actually takes ur numbers or open menus. Not only that, but the same problems in the previous reviews also occur. The annoying clock reminder for daylight savings also appears every minute (which fixed itself after one month). This phone also needs to be locked if u put it in ur pocket, as i am continuously turning off the AIM sign on menu, and there is no way to uninstall or remove it from the key command. The screen is small, and very cheaply lit. Almost within the first 4 months i have a dead pixel on the screen. Its very hard to view in sunlight. The screensaver that it has also tends to be very annoying, as it starts very soon after u stop using it (u cant write down a number without it blacking out the screen). The phone has very limited memory, and can hold a maximum of maybe 3 minutes of recording audio. As i read in other reviews of ringtones, i cant help but ask, WHAT RINGTONES? Every phone comes with several ringtones, most are better than Sony''s. Making ur own is a pain, u need to hold ur phone to a speaker if u want to record an audio clip. It seems easier if u buy a newer phone (most of which are free with plans, or very cheap), they allow u to upload mp3s directly from computer to cellphone for ringtones. The keys are also small, but it hasnt been a problem for me in particular. The only PROS i see for this phone, is that its connection is farily stable, and its somewhat durable. I have dropped this phone several times (this doesnt contribute to my problems with the phone), the SIM card being loose is mainly contributed to the phone being dropped or inproperly put in. Besides the decent reception of the phone, this is a terrible product. The fact that it causes interference with almost any other electronic is enough to put this phone to shame (i can tell when an incoming call arrives before the phone even rings, just by static). DONT BUY THIS PHONE, almost everything, from games to ringtones need to be purchased. No shielding will embarass the hell out of u the next time ur listening to loud music in ur cars stereo and have an incoming call. Sony is no longer a good brand, stick with something else. Sorry for the long review, but its that freaking horrible. Less

Slow and reception cuts out

from Amazon
This cell phone has numerous issues. Sometimes it won't shut off and it takes forever for the buttons to respond. I have received warranty replacement and it still does the same thing. Also, the reception is lousy and calls get dropped.

Other than that, no problems. The reception doesn''t cut out, the SIM card doesn''t pop out, the screen doesn''t flicker, it doesn''t smoke, and green slime doesn''t ooze out of it. It does everything I ask a cell phone to do, send and receive calls, period. The buttons are small, but c''mon, so is the phone. Sorry everyone, they don''t have a fold-out keyboard! Get over it... It asks me everyday since daylight savings time, if I''d like to update to the current time. I have to wiggle the cord just right to get the battery to charge and forget about using handsfree, it will never work. Recently, it started a new thing. The screen will flash up and tell me SIM card dislodged please turn phone off and on again. I don''t even touch the SIM card, I just turn it off and on again and it is fine. I''ve had a cell phone since 1994 and this one has caused me more headache than the very first one I ever bought. Just buy something else please. Anything else. Less
