The Samsung Replenish is unlike many other affordable smartphones on the market today. Sure, if you take a look at its spec sheet, you’ll find that it has mostly unimpressive features. It is an entry-level model, after all. But a quick glance at its hardware and software highlights just isn’t enough to fully appreciate what’s so good about it.
You see, the Replenish is made out of recycled materials. It's environmentally friendly, at least when compared to a regular cell phone, and it runs the Android OS (2.2 Froyo) which is something pretty unique for phones in this category.
So how does Samsung's eco-phone perform? Fairly decent. In fact it even excels at certain things when compared with other handset models in its price range.
Getting an entry-level Android smartphone is easy. Getting a Replenish is easy on the environment.

What the Critics Are Saying...
- Brad Molen, EngadgetA device like the Replenish is a decent choice for first-time smartphone buyers because of the low cost and waived monthly data premium, though it's not something you'll want to switch to if you're already packing an Android phone. It performs admirably for normal tasks, but has a difficult time hol...
- Mike Perlman, InfoSyncThe price for going green is cheap if you're a Sprint user, but is it worth it? Yes, the Replenish is made of recycled plastic and it comes with a Green Sprint ID. It's also 10 bucks a month before you add in all of the other fine print rubbish. We liked the fact that the Replenish acted like a typi...
- Eric M. Zeman, Phone ScoopThe Samsung Replenish is a low-end Android device. With its 2 megapixel camera, smaller, low-res display, and lack of any advanced features, it's decidedly an entry-level smartphone. What it makes up for in lack of features, though, is heart. First, the Replenish feels good to use and works well...
- Jamie Lendino, PC MagazineThe Samsung Replenish, Sprint's first eco-friendly Android cell phone, is a relatively rare beast: a BlackBerry-like, slab-style Android phone with a physical keyboard. The world needs more of those, and the Replenish's green cred helps add to its attraction. But it's too sluggish, with short batter...
- Jessica Dolcourt , CnetSamsung has done a nice job of creating an eco-phone that balances cost and convenience. The Replenish took surprisingly clear and sharp photos for a 2-megapixel camera, and most other features behaved as expected. Although the built-in QWERTY keyboard could feel cramped for larger fingers, we were...
