RATING
Based on 19 reviews

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is the larger version of Samsung’s latest release. However, apart from size, it shares many similarities with it’s smaller sibling.

Key differences include:

  • A larger 6.2-inch 1440-by-2960 display
  • A larger 3500mAh battery

Reviewers found that the display still looks sharp and vibrant even though the resolution is still the same. Engadget says, “For the people in search of buying advice, here's all you need to know about the S8 and S8 Plus's screens: They're awesome.”

Battery life for the S8 is stellar. Stuff TV notes, “It managed over 12 hours of streaming video playback, and easily lasted a full day of heavy use - including wireless music streaming to a pair of Bluetooth headphones, snapping photos and far too much time spent scrolling through Facebook.”

Offers a generational leap in design, fit and finish

from Canadian Reviewer
In terms of design and display technology, Samsung’s twin-towers hit the ball right out of the park. These are the most impressive and desirable handsets Samsung has ever made, and they are the flagship smartphones to beat right now with no challenger on the horizon until the next iPhone hits the market... Dazzles on the outside, but beauty is only skin deep

from Digit
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus brings flagship class design and is finally a phone that doesn't look like all others. If that piques your interest, then this is the phone you should buy. It's one of the best smartphones out there today, but an incremental update in everything except design... Full review

The best Android phone, bar none

from Pocket-lint

Samsung waited a little later in 2017 to unleash its flagship phone - but it was well worth the wait. Exquisite design, a high-quality waterproof build, great camera, plus 3.5mm headphone socket for those decent AKG headphones just to kick off to list of positives. But it's the refined software experience - which offers you choices and functions - and top-class performance where the S8+ outstrips other flagships.  And then there's that display. At first glance it looks big, but in the hand it feels just fine. Some might think the near-2:1 aspect ratio to be odd, but once it's been put... Full review

Makes most other flagship smartphones feel dated

from V3
What you end up with is a fantastic smartphone in the Samsung Galaxy S8+, which has only a couple of flaws. The ultimate irony is that the area it excels in the most - that incredible design - is the area that it falls the shortest, owing to the awful placement of the fingerprint scanner. In saying that, if you can get over that flaw and the lack of stereo speakers, the Samsung Galaxy S8+ is the most fully-featured smartphone on the market and is, in many ways, the best... Offers many high-end features

from Notebookcheck
Samsung's Galaxy S8 Plus is an excellent smartphone, which does not reveal any serious weaknesses. The new and almost bezel-less design already looks great on pictures, but it is even more impressive when you hold it in the hand. The Infinity display convinces in all respects: color accuracy, luminance and reflectiveness. However, the performance of the new Samsung Exynos 8895 is also excellent and can even keep up with Apple's A10 chip... Full review

Big-screened flagship makes most other flagships feel nothing short of dated

What you end up with is a clearly flawed, fantastic smartphone in the Samsung Galaxy S8+. The ultimate irony is that the area it excels the most, that incredible design, is the area that it falls the shortest, owing to the terrible placement of the fingerprint scanner. In saying that, if you can get over that potentially fatal flaw and the lack of stereo speakers, the Samsung Galaxy S8+ is the most fully-featured smartphone on the market, and is, in many ways, the best... Basically a bigger S8

The Samsung Galaxy S8+ is a larger version of the excellent Galaxy S8, trading a slightly bigger battery for a form factor that isn't as easy to use in one hand... Full review

If you want the very best Android has to offer, go get a Galaxy S8+. It’s not perfect, but it’s as close as you can get. And it’s hard to imagine another phone coming close anytime soon, except maybe the iPhone 8... Full review

The comeback phone

from Mashable
The Samsung Galaxy S8+ is an excellent smartphone. The large, curved screen is mesmerizing. You won’t miss the physical home button. The missteps, like a misplaced fingerprint sensor and the fact that Samsung has no response for the iPhone 7 Plus 2x optical zoom or cutting-edge Portrait Mode, do not hobble the device... Luckily for Samsung, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are excellent devices to begin the work of rehabilitating its image. They are the best Android phones you can buy right now, with stunning displays, beautiful design, and great performance... Full review
