Simply amazed.

I have had this phone since 2006 and I retired it after about 10 months. There was nothing wrong with it at except that I was jealous of the mp3 ringtones my friends have. Well here it is today, that I am 20 miles away from my phone charger and I remember I left my 3100b in the glove box. Keep in mind I haven't turned on, let alone charged the 3100b in over a year when I let my dad use it. So I switch out the sim cards and I'm very impressed that it turns on and then the display tells me it has 3 bars of battery life. I plan to go back to using the 3100b. I'll hang on to my old phone as a back-up phone. Less

Great Little Phone

I got this phone impulse after an older Nokia phone's battery went bad during a trip. It lasted for 2 years then started acting up a little. I got this phone impulse after an older Nokia phone's battery went bad during a trip. It lasted for 2 years then started acting up a little. It started turning itself off and going from 5 bars to "no netwrok coverage". Turns out the on/off switch went bad. I took it apart and removed the cover to the switch. After that I had to turn it on with a paperclip but it worked fine. This phone does not have all the bells and whistles of the newer phones but it has been very reliable. It is small enough to carry around in your pants pocket without having to wear a pair of suspenders. The speaker phone made it easy to use in the car without having to buy more equipment. Screen is small but very easy to use and intuitive. the larger screens tend to show too much information to take in at a glance. The standby time was great talk time better than most. And it has been really tough, surviving all of the tumbles it has taken out of the car when if forgot to take it out of my lap. I got another phone a few days ago but I have 30 days to take it back. I am not sure I want to join the Borg with bluetooth in my ear. I may try to get a few more miles out of my 3100b. Good luck. Rob Less

Great Phone...For 8 Months!

This phone was a great fit for me. I did like the features and style. This phone was a great fit for me. I did like the features and style. Unfortunately it quit working (would shut itself off randomly, even in the middle of conversations) when it was only 8 months old. After buying a new battery, in order to make sure this was not the problem, I contacted Nokia, and sent the phone in for service, which left me without a phone for over a month. When I got the phone back, it was with a note stating that they were unable to fix it because they could not reproduce the problem. The very next time I tried to use it, it shut off in less than 5 minutes! It was even worse than it had been when I sent it in. I called Nokia back, and was told to send the phone back in, and they would try again to fix it. Considering the cost of shipping, time without a phone, and all the time I wasted being on hold and snarled at by rude customer service people, I gave up and vowed never to buy another Nokia phone. Nokia 3100B

I've had this reliable phone for 18 months on Fido. Probably no longer available new but you can buy them used. Works very well, clear sound both ways & with speakerphone, long battery life. I've had this reliable phone for 18 months on Fido. Probably no longer available new but you can buy them used. Works very well, clear sound both ways & with speakerphone, long battery life. Has never locked up. Occasionally I have network connection and low received volume problems but I suspect it is a Fido issue. This is a basic phone but it does that job fine, I ditched an advanced Sony/Ericson because it had a short battery life and locked up frequently. Less

Kind of a small screen, but overall an excellent phone. If you live/work in an area with excellent GSM coverage, this phone is great. I bought the phone when I lived in the Houston area, and never had a single problem. Tons of features: internet access, checked e-mail, instant message, etc. After moving to Omaha, I''m not satisfied with the reception. I''ve been told(by multiple people using the same network) that reception would be better with a Motorola phone. Take that as you want. Nothing but good things to say about the FUNCTIONS of the phone. Less
