RATING

5.2/10
Informr score
The Motorola MOTOGO! Flip currently has an Informr score of 5.2 out of 10. This score is based on our evaluation of 9 sources including reviews from users and the web's most trusted critics.

Some people just want a basic phone. But others want a basic phone that’s got some style. If you’re among the latter group of people, then check out the Motorola MOTOGO! Flip.

Though not as sleek as the iconic Motorola RAZR V3, it’s still very pocketable at 7mm thin—when open—and 99 grams. It comes with a regular alphanumeric keyboard, a color screen on the inside, as well as a grayscale display that shows important notifications on the exterior shell.

If you don’t want or need your phone to be your main source of entertainment or tool for productivity apps, then the MOTOGO! Flip is surely worth a look.

Need to Know: Motorola MOTOGO! Flip

1. Small and lightweight which makes it easy to carry around. (The Good)

2. Accepts microSD cards for extra storage. (The Good)

3. Short battery life. (The Bad)

4. Lacks 3G connectivity. (The Bad)

Its not the best phone I have had.

It's layout is absolutely awful. Everything is everywhere. Camera sucks, along with its problem with over heating. I have had it for 1.5 years and never really had any other problems with it. I just got this phone as a gift and I thought it was just a phone. This is fine. The help is just two pages long, but if you have the internet get on as many WX416 sites as you can find. There are lots of sites with lots of information. There are more features than I had hoped for and will use, but E Mail was not expected. All land line phone features are present and this is also a present surprise. For those who understand analytical instruments for HPLC, this is a SP 4270 integrator. All you see is the keypad, but there is a ton of operation underneath it Less

Excellent BASIC phone.

If you want a no-nonsense phone, you came to the right place. If you think you can take pictures that are worth a spit, or a decent user manual, or a mp3 player or a web browser, you chose the WRONG phone. I am very happy with mine. If you want a no-nonsense phone, you came to the right place. If you think you can take pictures that are worth a spit, or a decent user manual, or a mp3 player or a web browser, you chose the WRONG phone. I am very happy with mine. I had a Samsung flip phone from Telus but when they started screwing with billing and raised their rates, I decided it was time to move on. I chose Chatr, which is really owned by Rogers. The first phone was a $60 Sony Ericsson txtpro which had major issues with the touch display. Specifically, when the phone rang and I touched "Answer" but the phone would interpret that as "Don't Answer". After going insane one day, I went to Chatr and got this Motorola for the hard-buttons and none of that touch display. Also, because it looks so much like my old Samsung phone. If you are a yacker, I hear this phone doesn't have the battery life. I find it good for me for 2 days. I may talk 0.5-1.0 hour a day max. I know the battery drain, because I tested it. I had 3/4 power left, after 1/2 hr call, AND 24 hours of stand-by, not so close to a tower(1-2 bars). Less

The instructions are -where?

This little phone has more features than I will ever use, partly because I need only a basic phone, but also because the instructions for this device are all contained in a measly little two page pdf file. How much instruction can one expect to find in a two page document, anyway? Probably not much. For that matter, page two is only " Safety, Regulatory & Legal" info. So, there is only one page of "quick start" instructions, and THAT IS ALL. I can't even figure out how to change the ringer volume, or if it is even possible to do so. Less

I love this phone because..

Have not had a lick of trouble with this phone! I charged it completely when I received it and the battery goes 24 hours with moderate use, on standby it goes at least 48 hours. My ONLY complaint is the memory. My brother sends pictures with text and I have 5 messages that "are to large to download". I...More

My ONLY complaint is the memory. My brother sends pictures with text and I have 5 messages that "are to large to download". I went so far as to add 2GB of memory and they still won't download. For me, I was just looking for a phone and that is exactly what I got. My PC is at home so this works just fine for me. Oh, my digital camera is at home too and it takes awesome pictures. Less

Basic may not want

An overnight charge (when complete) causes the phone to either sleep (comatose) or completely shut down...I miss calls and any kind of notification from voicemail until I "Kick Start" the little beasty. Two cans and some string...better investment....

I wouldn't buy this phone again.

Pros: small enough to fit into pocket easily. Very inexpensive. Cons: Camera is very poor quality. Doesn't hold a charge very long. I have to reset my ring tone every time I recharge it; otherwise the phone doesn't ring. I returned it to Motorola to have this problem fixed. They kept it for 2 weeks, re...More

Incredibly byzantine operations
