What the Critics Are Saying...

'You get what you pay for' is true for smartphones in this day and age as a general rule. There are exceptions, but the Mate 10 Lite isn't one of them. Life with it won't be entirely niggle-free, but if your tolerance is pretty high it will make for a good companion.

It is a safe recommendation if you are looking for a well-rounded phone that does not break the bank.

Cnet

Huawei’s Mate 10 Lite gives you enough power and a fantastic design, including a 5.9-inch screen framed by small bezels, for less than $400. Its dual cameras on the front and back are more style than substance, and its battery life, while acceptable, could be better.

Softpedia

The Huawei Mate 10 Lite is, in essence, a mid-range phone with premium ambitions, and while sometimes it evolves beyond its condition, there’s still plenty of room for improvements.

More of a selfie phone

from GSM Dome

Huawei Mate 10 Lite is basically a bigger Huawei P10 Lite, with more or less than same performance and the same camera performance. It adds some Bokeh action and makes some compromises, like the display, some parts of the battery and WiFi. I’d use it for indoor gaming, selfies, music listening and some pics.

Actually quite a good phone

from PhoneArena

The phone has a great price. It is build very solidly, it has a cool 2:1 screen with tiny bezels, and we are particularly impressed with the premium feel of the display glass. It runs smoothly in the daily grind, and with a few tweaks, its camera captures good images in daylight.

A Mate in looks and a Lite in price

The Mate 10 Lite is not a mini and we don't just mean the near six-inch screen. It's just not like most of them minis living off the flagship hype. No, you do get a reasonably good performer with the right touch of premium, both on the inside and the outside.

Notebookcheck

Smallest and most affordable member of the Mate 10 family

from Notebookcheck

All things considered, it still turned out to be a fairly decent smartphone, particularly for those who prefer their smartphone screens to be big and massive. We would have wished for less compromises when compared with its two bigger brothers, though, and battery life could have been a bit better to boot.
