What the Critics Are Saying...

Stuff

Unlike last year, there is little to separate the two iPhones other than size, battery life and price. If you like a large screen and you don't mind the extra cost, you'll probably choose the iPhone XS Max over this one. But, unlike with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, choosing the smaller handset d...

As with all "S" model upgrades, this is about bringing new processing power to a phone that already looks good. The Apple iPhone XS offers a faster device, a tougher shell, although we aren't yet sure by how much, and a better camera.

This feels like a modest upgrade to the iPhone X; Apple made a big play about what it can actually do, rather than the gangbusting spec changes, but perhaps that's fair given we're topping out on what a smartphone is really needed for these days. The new gold color impresses, the speaker volume is g...

Of course, the Apple iPhone XS is a premium smartphone package that comes with a premium smartphone price tag. But if there's one thing we do know - Apple rarely struggles to sell new iPhones, no matter the price.

We can’t reiterate enough how much of a modest upgrade the iPhone Xs is over the iPhone X. We’ll be reviewing the device soon, but from what we’ve seen so far, you do not need to upgrade to the Xs if you have an iPhone X. This is a phone for people upgrading from any iPhone without the modern design...

Common Questions

The iPhone Xs price will vary depending on retailer, age, special offers and whether or not it's purchased with a service plan. If purchased with a 2 year service contract for example, you would likely pay much less for the phone itself up front. You can compare Apple iPhone Xs prices from around the web here on The Informr.

Apple backs up the iPhone Xs with a 1 Year parts & labour warranty.

If your iPhone Xs has problems and is still within its warranty period, you could contact Apple support or the retailer you purchased the phone from. You'll find Apple's contact information here. If your phone is off warranty and needs repair for a physical problem such as a broken screen or bad battery, you should visit an authorized service centre or a local phone repair shop. If you like a large screen and you don't mind the extra cost, you'll probably choose the iPhone XS Max over this one. But, unlike with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, choosing the smaller handset does not mean you have to settle for a less optimum camera experience. Size is the only real differentiator. Otherwise, the two phones are almost identical, with matching specs, identical, beautiful design and the same powerful processor at the heart of each.

We’ll be reviewing the device soon, but from what we’ve seen so far, you do not need to upgrade to the Xs if you have an iPhone X. This is a phone for people upgrading from any iPhone without the modern design aesthetic, and to entice Android owners.
