Why does the Samsung Galaxy Stellar 4G LTE shut off when I unplug it from its charger?

The only way my phone will power on is when I put it on charge when I unplug it, it powers down. I want to know what could be wrong with it

Hmm.. Battery is probably dead. Buy a new battery before using the phone again. Also remove the old battery to avoid any further problem.
