What can you say about Virgin Mobile?

Virgin mobile isnt really that big of a company. I was wondering if other people have tried it. I dont want to purchase their phone and find out its shit. Plus where do you buy their phone cards.. can u only get them at their retail partners!? Im normally always driving between hamilton and peterborough, and I need a phone that will work well between those areas. what are your opinions.??

VM is cheaper for prepaid calling and cost effective. The only problem I have
is I can't receive incoming text messaging from some foreign countries and outgoing as well. This looks like interconnection issue with International wireless provider.

I bought a Virgin Mobile phone for my girlfriend and when she opened it I was instantly jealous 'cuz it is a cool phone to be sure! The graphics and sound effects included with the phone are very very cool and the price is good (I Paid 99 bucks at Montreal Future Shop). She uses the phone once a week and so the pay as you go is great especially since it lasts for 120 days. I will give them a positive recommendation. Maybe pay as you go is not for big time talkers but it is a decent phone at a decent price for people with better things to do than chat on a phone.

BUNK DEAL, dont have there own network, pay as u go so no financial stability!!

I personally have had no problems with Virgin in Canada. I previously had a Bell phone and I have noticed no difference in coverage in my area (southern ontario). This is likely because they use the Bell network.

What I do like is the low, low cost of ownership and airtime. If you use your phone only occasionally, they can't be beat. You get $10 of free airtime when you purchase the phone, and you can get another $10 if you use a referral from another Virgin customer at the time of activation.

So right off the bat you can get $20 of free airtime that desn't expire for 4 months!

If you need a referral, just send me an email at "virgin.referrer AT gmail DOT com" and I will send you one real quick!

Note. This is not a scam, it is a genuine offer made by Virgin Mobile (www.virginmobile.ca)!

Good Luck,

Rick

VM is suited for those who use their mobiles occasionally. It's simple and straighforward. Just one plan: 25 cents per minute for the first 5 minutes of the day and 15 cents per minute for the rest. You can buy cards valued at $15 and up and keep them for 4 months without expiring. Minimum expense is $30 per year to keep your phone active. No activation fees, no system access fees. And you get caller ID, voice mail, 911 and other features for free. But no internet yet. SMS and emails are free to receive and 10 cents each to send. There are only 3 phones available and prices of all of them came down recently. Cheapest Nokia is $79. Audiovox flip phone $119 and camera phone $179. And you get free $10 calling time at the start.

I use my phone only when I'm out of my home and office which is only 3-4 hours a day. It's nice to have it for someone to reach me in an emergency. I am totally satisfied with my VM. If you want to keep a phone with you all the time when you travel, this may well be the cheapest way. No contracts, no credit checks. Anybody can get one.

yea, thats what i was thinking too. You buy the prepaid phone cards at like Wal Mart and anywhere else you can usually buy them. But what i like about Virgin Mobile is that their phone cards will last 120 days, right now my fido one only lasts max. 30 days. and thats if u buy the 30$ one, i usually get 15 and it lasts for 15 days so its costing me a lot..And as for their coverage, arent they partners with Bell, so if Bell's coverage is good, then i guess Virgin's is too? But i still want to know other peoples opinions before i get one..because i want to know if its good or not...
