Hi Bob. I think you're referring to AT&T prepaid phones. Let me know which exact phone model you are referring to so I can give better instructions. For now you can try these:

1. Check side of phone, There usually are volume keys located there.
2. Go to Settings and look for Sounds. If that option is available, you should be able to adjust volume and phone ringtones and notifications there.
