So, pretty much the only positive thing I can say about Rogers is how good my cellphone signal is. That's it. Of course, it better be good with the price my mom pays monthly. I switched from Fido to Rogers and I can honestly say, I could have saved so much money and issues if I stayed with Fido, sure Fido has crappy cell phone reception, but at least they don't try to get you for your money.
The first year with Rogers was totally okay, I had a blackberry but then I wanted a new phone. So, I gave my mom my blackberry and got a samsung galaxy S phone (One of the worst phones I've ever had). After having that for pretty much a year. I paid to get out of the contract, or switched over to the Iphone 4 contact. We went over things millions of times with them and they told us the same things. There was just one price we have to pay and that's it. We then found out after we got the iPhone deal, there were hidden fees. We got a bill for like 200 dollars because of the switch. We were told by different people that there would only be one set price to switch and it was a lot less then that and already paid. Apparently this was some fee for something else. My mom was on the phone for over an hour all pissed off and refusing to pay it since we were told completely different. My mom asked them why they never mentioned this before and all they said "Well they didn't have everything calculated at the time." That was complete bullcrap. I bet they'd hire a 5th grader to work there since no one seems to know what they're talking about. After that problem was solved, they decided to talk us into going with the family plan, since it would be cheaper. We've been on the family plan ever since and my mom has noticed that she is paying more then she would if we went for two separate plans. Now we're stuck paying top price until we can get out of this contract. I'm definitely not going back with them again, I want to leave as soon as possible. After doing a bit of research today, I realized how much Rogers is ripping me off. My plan alone is like 75 dollars (Unlimited texting, 150 minutes, some data, my10), and I've seen plans for 30 dollars with much more features (Unlimited texting internationally, unlimited talking canada wide, pay as you go data.) and it's a well known company too. Rogers only care about one thing, it's not customer satisfaction, it's money. I can see Rogers losing many customers due to this issue. People will join, then immediately regret it afterwards. Once they leave, they'll be gone for sure, I don't see this company really being the kind to keep people going beyond the contracts ending unless you're rich and like to throw your money away on less then paying less and getting more. I highly suggest not going with this company if you don't want to lose money.
