The Samsung Fascinate 3G+ is Samsung's first smartphone in their Galaxy S family that was released for the carrier Telus. While the phone shares some similarities with the Fascinate running on Verizon in the US, the hardware itself is fundamentally different, so it's important not to confuse the features and specifications of these two different models.
Like many of the Galaxy S variants, the Fascinate 3G+ features Samsung's bright and beautiful four-inch, 480 x 800 Super AMOLED multi-touch display protected by Corning's scratch and shatter resistant Gorilla Glass. The display automatically adjusts its level to changes in light, making it easy to browse the web or watch a movie indoors or out.
Many of the other features on the Fascinate 3G+ are fairly standard on most of the smartphones currently available, including WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth compatibility, a 5 megapixel rear-mounted digital camera, and a GPS with integrated navigational controls. One standout feature is Samsung's proprietary Swype system for quickly and intuitively inputting text without lifting a finger from the screen.
Inside the shiny shell, the Fascinate 3G+ sports a 1 GHz ARM processor backed by 512 MB of RAM and a bulky 16 GB of built-in flash storage. An external microSD card slot allows you to expand the phone's memory with removable storage. The phone ships with Android 2.1 (Eclair), but an upgrade to 2.2 (Froyo) is available for free.
