HTC’s 5800 is a powerful, EVDO-capable, entry into the PDA market. With a candy bar form factor and slide-out full QWERTY keyboard, the 5800 maintains a comfortable size (4.07” x 2.01” x 0.76”), without sacrificing functionality.
When closed, the 5800 has the standard 12-key keypad, and additional buttons are placed in familiar places.
The HTC 5800 runs on the now standard Windows Mobile 6 OS, and the 2.4” display lists recently used apps along the top, and text and voicemail alerts below.
Since the HTC 5800 does not use a touch screen interface, the user will rely heavily on the D-pad, which some users have said can become uncomfortable after a time.
The slide-out keyboard is backlit for easy viewing, however there is not spacing between the keys, which could make typing difficult.
Additional features include:
The HTC 5800 allows you to sync with your Outlook, receive your email via ActiveSync and view and edit MS Word and Excel documents. It also switches from portrait to landscape mode when the spring-loaded full QWERTY keyboard slides open.
This phone appears to be a good candidate for busy professionals who need internet access and the ability to communicate quickly.

Email freezes, keep resetting it, company rep supposed to call to try to fix the problem. No call. This product just does not work. Even when it does it is not intuative. Pain in the butt, AND the battery is crap.

I've had this phone since October 2008. I get 7 minutes of talk time out of it, then it dies. I get 15 - 45 minutes of texting (not on the full keyboard) then it dies. I do not recommend this to anyone. I can't wait to get out of my contract and to switch to a new phone.
