Since the iPhone's debut, we've seen an endless stream of touchscreen-enabled mobile phones hitting the market. Some are great, and some are quite forgettable, but LG is trying to provide quality at an reasonable price with the KP500.

How reasonable is yet to be known, but as far as features go, it seems to be decent enough. It's got a pretty average 3-inch display, 3-megapixel camera, motion sensor and a variety of colors to choose from. It even has is own TouchFLO-like interface to make the whole user experience a bit more enjoyable. Here's a video of how the UI works.

With the market flooded by a bunch of touchscreen-based mobile phones, making a mark in this highly competitive area is becoming harder as the months go by. Out-classing the competition with stellar features will also lead to a higher retail cost which will, in turn, drive away potential buyers. So, LG just might be onto something here. Offer a device that's slapped with a more consumer-friendly price, tag and bundle it with an average feature-set, and you might have a chance at winning over a certain percentage of the market.

We'll soon find out if they truly have a winner on their hands as it's expected to go on sale in Europe next month, and go worldwide thereafter.
