Google ScreenA Google phone is definitely in the works. While mobile Google already has wide presence among the Internet phone crowd, a Google-branded handset might just be the ticket for hassle-free Internet searches on cell phones. As the Observer's David Smith shyly puts forward, the Google-Orange tandem might be the future of the Internet.

From GMail and Blogger to Google News and Google Maps, Google definitely has a lot of things to offer for the mobile crowd who require uninhibited Internet access.

This is what Tony Cooper, a Deloitte telecoms consultant, has to say about a Google-Orange deal:

"It has a potential to be a success, and to offer commercial success for both companies, particularly if Orange can link it to its broadband offering. If I was Orange, I'd want to get a share of the ad click-through revenues; if I was Google, I'd want a share of the airtime revenue. The potential stumbling block is if it's clunky and hard to use.
