Take the classic Sony Xperia full touchscreen smartphone design and mix it with one of the latest versions of Android and what have you got? The Sony Xperia neo L, that’s what. Its design is reminiscent of the typical Xperia-branded smartphone from Sony, and it’s not such a bad thing. In fact, design is one of its strong points. But how does the rest of the it perform?
Software-wise, it’s got Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and all of the nifty features that come along with that operating system. There's a 1GHz processor and a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen display, although the screen is not as good as the ones found on other similarly-priced handsets. Another negative is the amount of onboard RAM, which is limited to only 512MB and may get in the way of multi-tasking.
The neo L is not perfect. It can be much better in some areas—such as camera performance—and deserves to be completely overhauled in others. But it’s one of the best Android-flavored handsets in its price range. If it fits your budget, then it definitely deserves consideration.

- Victor H., PhoneArenaSpeed and mediocre camera performance are the two possible dealbreakers here. There’s not all that much lag, but the occasional stutter could be annoying.
