The alternative way to add a ringtone or picture for a contact, select the contact and Options -> Add detail -> Multimedia.

Select Menu > Music > My Music > All tracks. 1. Select a song 2. Press Options 3. Choose Set as Ringtone

Hi Lynn. Tap on More. There should be an option to set song as ringtone.
