Thursday's Nokia Lumia 1020 Confirmed by Microsoft Exec

Nokia has yet to unveil its 41-megapixel PureView Windows Phone, which will be called the Nokia Lumia 1020. But already confirming the device is Microsoft Windows Phone manager Joe Belfiore, who recently published photos to his Flickr account that contain the name "Nokia Lumia 1020" in the associated EXIF data. Codenamed EOS, the Lumia 1020 is expected to be official Thursday, July 11th.

  • The phone is rumored to feature a 1280 x 768 OLED display, 32GB storage, a top-of-the-line 41-megapixel PureView camera with a xenon flash, and a polycarbonate case.
  • A camera war is brewing in the smartphone market with the HTC One featuring an Ultrapixel camera, Samsung releasing a version of the Galaxy S4 with a 10x optical zoom, and a Nikon camera technology being prepped for the Google Nexus 4 successor.
