Samsung Electronics reported global channel sales of more than 10 million units of the Galaxy S4 in less than a month after its global launch. The latest entry in the Galaxy S series, which is packaged to rival Apple's iPhone, is the fastest selling smartphone in Samsung's history. The S4 was officially launched on April 27 in 60 countries. Due to unexpected high demand, the Galaxy S4 had to overcome inventory issues that disrupted its rollout with U.S. carriers Sprint and T-Mobile.

- Shipments of the Galaxy S3 only reached the 10-million mark 50 days after launch, while the Galaxy S2 took five months to reach the same milestone.
- Now available in more than 110 countries, the S4 will eventually be sold in over a total of 155 countries in partnership with 327 operators.
- The S4 features a 5-inch Super OLED screen with a whopping 441 ppi resolution, 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU (U.S. version) or eight-core Samsung Exynos 1.6GHz CPU (international version), 2GB of RAM, a removable 2600 mAh battery, 13MP and 2MP cameras, NFC, 4G, and Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1 with Samsung's TouchWiz user interface and "Smart" software.
- The S4 currently in shelves are available only in two color variants, Black Mist and White Frost, but Samsung is releasing this summer S4 variants in new colors including Blue Arctic and Red Aurora, followed by Purple Mirage and Brown Autumn.
