LG has introduced its first high-end waterproof handset, called Optimus GJ. Its IPX7 certification means it can stay underwater at depths of up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. The Android-running Optimus GJ is slightly larger and thicker than original Optimus G and features a 4.7 inch IPS HD display13MP rear camera, quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, MicroSD card slot, and a 2,280 mAh battery. The device will be available in Taiwan starting June for US$600 but there's no word on a release date outside Asia.
