iOS 7 to Be 'Black, White and Flat All Over'
iPhone Heat

The newest iteration of Apple's mobile operating system will be 'black, white, and flat all over,' 9to5mac’s Mark Gurman reported, citing unnamed sources. This refers to the dropping of heavy textures and the addition of several new black and white user interface elements. Apple is expected to unveil a completely-revamped iOS 7 at its Worldwide Developers Conference on June 10th to 14th. Previous reports have said that Jonathan Ive, Apple's SVP of Industrial Design, is working on drastic changes to apps and functions that have been largely unchanged since 2007.

What Else You Need To Know

  • Jonathan Ive took on an interface design role with iOS following the departure of iOS architect Scott Forstall in late 2012.
  • A report says that the new iOS will deeply integrate more social media features, including Flickr and VImeo.
