The Motorola Theory is a no-frills entry-level messaging smartphone that comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display and a fullQWERTY keyboard. It is available for sale mainly in the US and as such, it supports CDMA networks. In terms of features its definitely no superphone, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s completely useless. In fact, with the combination of its hardware keyboard and easy to read color display, it may be one of the most useful handheld messaging phones you may ever own.
Other features of the Theory include built-in Bluetooth, microUSB connectivity, 1-megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, and 128MB of internal memory. As it doesn’t hold much in terms of hardware, it weighs a feathery 110 grams and measures just 12mm thick.
It’s true that this phone's feature-set is rather limited. It doesn’t have Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, or 146 other things that are available in other messaging phones. But for just a little over half a hundred bucks, you’ll have a phone with one of the most comfortable keyboards to type on. It doesn’t hurt that it supports standard e-mail features and lasts up to 20 days on standby with its standard battery either.
