For 3 years I have subscribed to STI MOBILE. So Affordable, I have 2 cell phones and 2 cell phone plans. One Phone I keep inside my automobile for emergencies and to phone home about groceries, or that I will be late, etc. The other phone I keep at home in my pocket or jacket as I work around the house or yard; Also would be handy if my regular phone service ever went down.. Each costs only a one time fee of about $5.00 to activate each phone Then only $3.00 a month to keep each alive - and my minutes do not expire! I can purchase $25 or $50 cards - and pay only 8.9 cents per minute, whenever I need to use one of the phones. However, if my minutes go to zero I have about 10 days or so to buy more minutes to keep the phone number. Otherwise, I will lose my number(it happened to me once when I misplaced my phone and then found it after all the minutes had expired.) But, I only had to pay $4.95 to activate it again. Only problem was I had to get a new number. Another choice of plans lets you choose Unlimited Nights and Weekends for $29.99 if you like to use the phone to chat a lot during those times. I have never had any problems getting through with tech support. I have rarely needed to use tech support. I don't know much bout this particular phone; I use the Sanyo 200 flip phone from STI and works well, even after I dropped it a few times. I am very pleased about this low cost way to keep a cell phone around for occasional use. Great for the older person who wants an emergency phone around. You can buy the refill minutes cards a lot of different places, like cheapphonecards dot com at a 3% discount. To add the minutes, simply dial *555 on the cell phone and follow instructions to enter the new phone card PIN. You can also get other options: WEB BROWSING, TEXTING., Press & Talk. Just google at STI MOBILE website. I am going to buy one for my brother for Christmas. He rarely talks on the phone, but there are times when he is on the road that he needs to pull over and find a phone to call his wife. So, this is perfect for his occasiional use. Less

Screens (external and internal both) have a poor connection and can go out often or do not always start up from sleep mode. 2. Speakerphone is pretty bad and distorts terribly when played loud. 3. Battery life is next to non-existent. Seems like after an hour off the charger (used or not) it indicates a low battery. I recharge daily, yet need to recharge at every opportunity. 4. Poor screen contrast, flush keys in odd positions, and a strange menu system add to the dissapointing features. Other than that the phone works well, so I guess it is not a complete disaster. I would not recommend this phone, but its better than no phone at all. Less

I agree with Chandu's comments. This used to be a great deal, prior to the daily fees which started just months after I got my phone, and still isn't bad but its not the best either. I too fell victim to the web browsing problem. I had read the fine print and knew they would do it so I emailed asking them to cancel it. Assuming they would and using my phone only once a month or less, I was surprised to find my balance near 0 about 6 months later. After emailing again and determining the cause I forwarded my previous email asking to cancel. They claimed they never received it although they admitted the send to address was correct. They offered to cancel it now but said that since "they had no record of my previous email there was nothing they could do about those funds." I've recently fallen victim to another problem which resulted in even greater loss as I added time/money to my account not long ago. One of the terms taken directly from their terms and conditions is "If you do not maintain a positive balance for 14 consecutive days, or if you do not use your phone for 60 consecutive days, your account will be deactivated and your phone number and voicemail account will be lost." Since I use the phone so infrequently I keep track of this and sometimes have to make a call just to keep it active. What I didn't realize is that text messages don't count as "use." I had received a text message that was a wrong number. Since someone dialed my number, was connected to my phone, and I was charged, I figured it was use. Apparently it wasn't. Of course I didn't learn this until I went to use my phone and it didn't work. I lost the balance in my account and my phone number. I'm looking elsewhere now. Less

I bought this phone through Sprint in February of 2006. Several months later the main display began to fail and it would shut itself off. I contacted Sprint, as they sold me the phone, but got no real help. LG offered to replace the phone with a refurbished phone of the same model.I think replacing a new defective item with a used refurbished one is pretty crappy, but left with no other choice, I accepted their offer. After several months, my replacement started to show the same defects as the original, so I again sent it to LG for a replacement refurbished phone. After several months...guess what...the same problems started with the THIRD phone. I sent to LG yet again, and was told it would cost ME $95 to fix it as I was out of warranty!!!!!! LG's customer service and warranty program are absurdly sub standard and I will NEVER buy another LG product. I suggest you all do the same. Less

But after I activated my cell phone, they ate their words. At the same time, I found whenever I made a phone call, they charge me once the phone call is connected, even though no one answers the phone. This is one of their hidden charges. My experience is so bad, I will never use their service again. Less

I am very tough on phones refuse to buy a jillion dollar Nextel, but this one has lasted. I usually go through them in about 3 months but this one has been going strong for seven! Negatives: -TERRRRRIBLE battery (I'm sure you've noticed that in ALL the feedback) -I waste my batteries and my picture space because I am constantly hitting the camera while it's in my purse or pocket. It stinks when you have a second to take an amazing pic and your memory is full because of that stupid button. -Not enough memory ~ I can never save pics that friends send me Like I said, eh, it's a phone Less

This is nice little phone. It's completly black and small. It has a lot of features similar to the Lg pm 225 but since amazon doesn't carry this cingular version of the lg cg 225 I will write a review on it.The camera takes good pictures. It has a nice looking lcd clock on the front which you can lite up with the buttons on the side. The signal is pretty good in a building. The speaker phone sounds ok.The phone does have problems like the sprint version thou. 1)Battery charge only last a day and my phone is brand new.It states that the standby time is 10 days but no.Once you leave it on a couple of hours the battery starts to dip below the full mark and by the end of the day it's almost drained. 2)Memory is too low.It won't let me download over 2 ringtones. 3)The backlit keys arn't as bright as the samsung 427m but they get the job done is a movie theater. 4)No earphone jack to plug in a handset for driving but the speaker phone substitutes for this.I put the phone on my car seat after turning on the speaker and the person can hear me without me having to hold the phone. Pros 1)Lcd clock on the front of the phone elimates the need to open it to see the time and it even lites up by hitting the switch on the side. 2)Speaker phone 3)Camera takes good pictures 4)It's small compared to the samsung 427m. 5)Signal quality is ok in buildings better then my previous phone was.
