CNET

Has a good slide-out keyboard and powerful Android operating system, but this phone feels slightly stale

from CNET
LG has entered its own little battle 'bot into the Android fray, but the InTouch Max GW620 is no bone-crushing super phone. Rather, it's a bargain-basement effort that doesn't have much of an arsenal with which to shatter its bigger rivals into a thousand flaming fragments. The GW620 is available for free on a £22-per-month contract, and you can also pick it up for around £270 SIM-free. .. Full review

Aimed at young people and ordinary customers

from PhoneArena

The LG GW620 is not exceptional in terms of in-call quality – our caller´s voices were sharp and the sound was plagued by environmental noises that prevented us from being able to have a normal conversation. These noises, however, disappeared with volume at its mid setting and although not perfect, the sound quality got totally acceptable. Our callers complained about the excessive sharpness and muffled echo on their end, but all told, the in-call quality is about average.

We are pleasantly impressed by the battery life. The LG GW620 can make it through three whole da... Full review

What good is a phone if it isn’t stable?

from HowardChui

Here’s the LG Eve, their first Android powered phone. It has an amazing 5 row QWERTY keyboard, Android 1.5, 5 megapixel autofocus camera with flash, WiFi, Bluetooth, micro SDHC card slot. On paper it’s a solid device. Let’s check it out.

One of the things that really attracted me to the LG Eve is that I’ve recently been looking for a replacement for my HTC Fuze. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my Fuze and I think that Windows Mobile is a fairly solid platform with quite a lot of very solid apps. No UI is better than SPB Mobile Shell 3.0. Even HTC Touch... Loved it for the first month.....too many flaws

I've had my phone 1 year and 7 months.... I've had my phone 1 year and 7 months.... Pros: -GREAT keyboard - dedicated numbers -solid build/slider-I like the weight and feel in the hand. -Android -Battery Life-quite reasonable -Phone is relatively stable -call quality-never a dropped call -speakerphone is decent but could be a little louder. -built in speaker for multimedia audio is very good! -video playback decent for such a small screen-no comparison with today's phones but ok for it's time. Cons: -Resistive Screen - so unresponsive -lags badly -Android not upgradable...REALLY old 1.5 version so won't even comment as I know new versions are superior! I do love the freedom and functionality of Android even with this old version. -touch sensitive keys rather than hardware keys for home and back-you are constantly closing programs when you don't want to if you just lightly brush the keys -although the keyboard is fantastic, how the software handles text entry is not - doesn't add spaces when you hit space...has to do with predictive text I think...I've tried changing all text settings to no avail. -browser is slow as molasses so I never have to worry about using too much data because using it is too annoying! -Camera and video suck -audio recording REALLY sucks....voice recorder for meetings etc. virtually unusable...this is faulty hardware...I tried other recording apps from the market. This was a BIG disappointment too me....I record a lot of meetings etc. and just assumed the voice recorder would do the job.....silly me....The recorder on my daughter's sansa fuze is far superior to this!! My phone crashes from time to time but I've figured out that it is related to apps I've installed. Once I installed about 20 apps at once....big mistake.....install one at a time, use it, if it crashes your phone uninstall it. Sometimes it's a confilct of apps that you can't identify at first. This is an OS/software issue, not a hardware issue. I'm willing to bet not many of these phones crash from hardware issues. I really wanted to love this phone but I can't. There are more negatives than positives so I must give this phone a 4. It's had a good life and has been functional; I use email a lot and text a lot. I'm getting a superphone in a couple of months...it'll be android too. Less

One month later, did it again.. now the problem has changed, the back-sheet opens all the time and it launches applications all by itself.. I got so angry at this phone many times all I want to do is get a new phone (not LG). Just sent it for repairs today, but still I am stuck with this phone for 2 other years and It makes me Sad. Here is an advise for you.. Stay away from an LG Eve.. You will save lots of headaches. Less

Worst cell phone ever designed

We have had this horrible phone replaced 4 times now, each and every time it has trouble updating, it is extremely slow, the screen calibration is so far off it is ridiculous. The main screen is constantly freezing and needing to force close, and if the phone is on for anything over about 5 hours, it freezes so badly you have to actually pull out the battery just to get it running again. It's AWFUL

I will try to open up an app on the right hand side of my screen and it will open my dialer which is on the left hand side of the screen. It hardly ever works right for me, and its terrible to have to be able to use my keyboard to get into apps. Doesn't work for any games I want that needs the touchscreen. I'd rather run it over with a car and pay for the remainder time on my contract. Less

:) Not that bad..

I have been threw SOOO MANY PHONES over the years. And no phone has ever meet almost all my needs It has radio, sd card, touch and key board and head phone jack. The charger is kewl because you get a cord that you can plug into your computer or plug into a thing that plugs into the wall. All phones are gonna freeze, and do the but calls. I put a lock on my phone, its more of a pattern you have to draw no one can every get it and i never make butt calls thanks to that password (pattern). It is like a iphone but with a keyboard! Personally i have learned to live with the flaws, the very minor flaws. And i love it, i am now looking for a new phone to replace it and i can't find anyphone that can match up to this one. Less

Piece of GARBAGE!! DO NOT RECOMMEND

Absolutely hate this phone. I got it as an early Christmas present in November and thought it was great,, for the first month. So I've had it for about 8 months. And this is my second phone of the same kind!! I already had to get it replaced once. BECAUSE: It would freeze while texting, Browsing the internet and even the camera. Very frustrating considering the only way to fix it is to take out the battery and restart it, and If you own this phone you know it takes forever to start up again. Then its very slow when restarted. So now my screen goes blank for no reason? And again the only way to fix this is to take out the battery and wait all over again. Sometimes I do this more that 8 times a day. At the most random of times. But anyway I'm on to my second phone and here's a list why you shouldn't purchase this phone. - SD Card will unmount itself till it recognizes it again. Can't be normal. - Freezes a lot. While your texting or taking a picture. - Phone is overall slooowwww. - Screen will go blank, you can still see light but the screen is black, but the keyboard still lights up when opened. The only way to get your screen back is to take out the battery. Sometimes also when this happens my phone starts buzzing and doesn't stop till I take out the battery. FRUSTRATING! - Sometimes when I'm getting an incoming call AGAIN, my screen goes blank and I can't answer my call - Touchscreen is acting up. Typical. - I have noticed that when in a call you cant hear the other person very well at all. Just low quality. Overall I can't believe they can sell SH*T like this phone. it's USELESS. And I strongly Recommend nobody buy it, because its not worth 5 bucks. Less

useless

Freezes a lot, I don't trust it anymore. Never buy it.

It sucks

That might be a bit harsh, but it does. I got one for my wife through Rogers, here in Canada. That might be a bit harsh, but it does. I got one for my wife through Rogers, here in Canada. The first one refused recognize the SD card and she couldn't save anything to it, even after doing a factory reset. So Rogers replaced it. The second phone was fine for a couple of weeks. Now the touch screen is WAY out of calibration. Found some info on line on how to recalibrate but that doesn't work very well if at all. She can't even accept a call, the touch doesn't seem to function. Perhaps the phones just don't like the climate here. I don't know, no-one seems to want to answer that question. We've been sitting at 25°C (77°F) and 80-95% humidity. It's going to be replaced again. The wife says she wants an iPhone.... Less
