RATING
Based on 26 reviews

In the beginning you could have any phone, as long as it was black. Now there is a phone for every demographic, and the LG Banter is designed for the young at heart who enjoy texting.

As such, it is essentially an entry-level device, but what it lacks in whiz-bang features it makes up for in sensible shoes. Take the 1,000 name capacity phone book, the 2.1 stereo Bluetooth, alarm, calendar, voice-dialing command feature, GPS and more.

It starts out looking like a candy-bar phone but turns into a slider, with a full QWERTY keypad that offers a thoughtful layout of keys but lacks the contour and sculptured keys offered on some other phones.

The 2 inch, single display offers 240 x 320 pixel resolution, which is okay for what it does, but falls short of other displays in its tier group. There is expandable microSD memory, 2.1 Bluetooth, a 2.5mm jack input and a WAP 2.0 internet connection.

This is a decent phone, but feels like stuff left over from 2006 was thrown together to add another price-point offering.

If you want a simple phone, this writer believes other options offer more passion. As is, the LG Banter is okay, but lacks the luster that this solid company has built a reputation on.

I Love my Banter

I Love the LG Banter, I've had mine for about a year now, What made me want to get it is because you can change the color of the "case" on it, it comes with blue, shiny gray, and a purple one with a leaf pattern on the back. I never had any trouble with my phone at all. And they are very easy to use, the only problem is that I can;t make calls because the speaker in my phone is broken , but that's my fault because i accidentally dropped it to many times, I will be getting a new phone next week because of this, but I will be getting another Banter because I can't see myself getting use to another other phone when I Love this one so much :) Less

The LG Banter was my first phone, and it was alright. the keyboard and texting options are simple and easy to use and figure out. Which was great. I must say that the camera is a very low resolution and disappointing, and options and settings were also. The different faceplate are very colorful and a different feature that other phones don't have. I decided to trade up , because this phones camera and because the keyboard started glitching , and the keyboard was the best part so.. If you are looking for a CHEAP easy to use texter phone, this is for you. Less

Really disapointing!

I have had this cellphone for a year and a half now, and I regret buying this phone. At first, it was great, good batterie life, the keyboard was smooth and the menu seemed easy to use. Now it lasts only a day or so (even if I don't use it a lot I've tried), the phone often freeze and closes for no reason. The auto text which is not removable adds words every where for no reason and you are stuck with weird messages. The worst thing of it all, 3 of my numbers decided to stop working. The keyboard seems to be cheap. You could buy this phone for a replacement but don't buy it for three years it won't survive! Less

I have to agree with Julie56494. I am disappointed. The auto text cannot be termed off. It constantly inserts words from previously sent messages as you type so you frequently send incohererent messages. Secondly they located the OK key on the keyboard next to the arrow keys so you frequently accidentally sedn an incomplete mesage. Lastly there is NO return key on the keyboard - You in the genius in Design/QA who missed that????

Yeah this phone really sucks , its almost two years that i had this phone and im ready for a new one but a better one , this phone keeps shutting off , now that its broken , it likes to flicker even when im texting , a white screen shows up alot , it pisses me off

I've only had it for 6 months... Almost seven and it keeps freezing and shutting off on me. I was in a conversation with someone and it just shut down on me and didn't open until I re-opened it... Really sucks....

Wow! Most disappointed...

I just bought the cute LG Banter last month, and the first time I hooked it up to re-charge, I went to use it and the whole thing is deader than a doornail. I was very diligent during my 1st recharge so I was there when it was done so as to not leave it hooked-up for longer than was necessary, leav... More

I was very diligent during my 1st recharge so I was there when it was done so as to not leave it hooked-up for longer than was necessary, leaving me with many ????'s over my head as to what just happened. I have yet to make one call on this phone or one email or text. What's going on here? Anyone else have this problem happen to them? Would love to hear from you. Less

I have the same problem, I really don't know what to do, the battery isn't made to be used a lot and doesn't seem to be designed to last. It's a cheap phone and I regret buying it. The keyboard even broke at places!

amazing phone

i got this phone back in December and it is awesome. The battery life is great, it has great call reception and is very easy to text on. The only thing i do not like about it is that it cannot take video.

This phone is amazing, it has a long lasting battery life and it has great call reception, and very easy to text on, Though I'm kind of upset that it can't take videos.

This is an amazing phone. VERY easy to figure out, surprisingly long lasting battery life (about 4 days of constant use). I really like the 4 interchangeable face plates (silver, blue, purple and green). Overall, a very good quality phone for the price.

Also I've had to get it fixed because the slider got loose and almost fell off. Also can't believe they sell this phone with out any kind of manual on how to operate your phone. Id rather stick with my LG Keybo 2 then go back to the to LG Banter. Very disappointed with LG Less
