Lenovo A6000’s camera performs better than most of the smartphones in the similar price category. The software is one aspect where things can get better, but there’s nothing to worry as it can be improved with timely firmware upgrades and patches.

That being said, the strange omission of a notification light can be annoying. And the camera can only record video at a maximum of 720p resolution, but that is still pretty great considering other phones in this price range, like the Lumia 532, cant record HD at all.

It is also worth mentioning that, as much value for money as it is, the Lenovo A6000 has no one advantage over the Yu Yureka or Xiaomi Redmi 2, apart from the fact that it is indeed cheaper. Lenovo also has way more service centres in India, in comparison. But regardess of which of the three you choose to buy, chances are you’ll love it. I will point out that the Lenovo A6000 is a way better smartphone than the similarly-priced 2015 Moto E, though.

Its camera output isn't the best but isn't worst as well. Thus it is worth every hassle that the flash sale is known for (it is only available via flash sales held every Wednesday). Thus a big thumbs up for Lenovo A6000. Go for it.

We believe Lenovo has pulled out all the stops to assemble an impressive budget smartphone. The A6000 succeeds in many aspects and we are particularly pleased with its battery life, Dolby speakers, future-proofing in the form of a 64-bit processor, and support for 4G networks. This is not to say the A6000 is without flaws; the display could have had protective glass and the cameras could have been better.

The Indian Express

Fails to live up to its promise

from The Indian Express

Does 4G make this phone worth it? In my opinion, no. The real benefit of 4G connectivity is in high-speed data usage, which translates to faster browsing, faster YouTube videos, and so on. However, the A6000’s poor performance as a phone negates the benefits of 4G connectivity. What’s the point of faster internet if your browser is going to crash? What’s the point of loading pages fast if the keyboard doesn’t pop up quickly enough to type what you want...

Add to this, the A6000 is available only through Flipkart in the annoying flash sale model introduced by Xiaomi, where you have to register in advance and be super-fast in buying it. Lenovo has only released the phone in batches of 20,000, while accepting far more registrations. This phone isn’t worth jumping through all those hoops for.

The A6000, while promising on paper, simply does not live up to its potential. We’d give this one a miss.

Digit

64-bit comes to the budget segment

from Digit

As a budget device, the Lenovo A6000 is a very good smartphone, for now. Lenovo’s edge is in the fact that it is first to market with the new SoC. Also, it's only a matter of time before competitors come up with similar, if not better devices...

Looking at the performance of this device, we expect the new Redmi 2 (with similar specs, but 2GB of RAM) smartphone to be much better. Also, it's only a matter of time before competitors come up with similar, if not better devices.

Not to take anything away from the A6000, it is a very good budget device, but certain areas like the screen and battery can be improved upon. Competitors may capitalise on exactly these aspects. Currently, the A6000 is the cheapest LTE capable smartphone you can buy so, if you're not in a hurry for a new smartphone, then hold off on buying one right now and wait for the others to join the party. If on the other hand, you do need a phone urgently, then this is a very good buy.
