Nokia's much-anticipated addition to their Nseries, the N95, is expected to be available next month. Truth be told, there's more technology in this multimedia device than in the iPhone: integrated GPS(100 countries, 15 million location highlights), 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and autofocus (it takes DVD-quality videos), MP3 player with 3.5mm audio jack(so you can plug in your favorite headset), HSDPA 3.5G connectivity, ATI gaming chip, miniSD slot. It's so good, Popular Science gave it "The Best of What's New" award.

The N95 is not only a smartphone, which the iPhone isn't, it's all the other gadgets you'll ever need in one little box. To launch this fabulous device, Nokia has made this TV commercial (shot with an N95?) that simply makes the heart leap if you're a non-geeky gadget lover. I think Nokia used real people and I believe these people meant what they said... "I'd be genuinely mobile... " I'd call it my... "my life-support system," "my right hand," "my hero... " "It's the world in your hands."

The Nokia N95 will be more expensive than the Apple iPhone at $700 USD but this comes without a contract, which feels freeing after I saw the TV spot above. For a mobile phone, GPS device, 5MP camera with video record and MP3 player, Nokia must be kidding offering the N95 for only 700 bucks. The battery is sure to give you at least 6 hours of talk time.
