Nokia N95Popular Science magazine has chosen the Nokia N95, one of the newest device in Nokia's N series, worthy to receive this year's "Best of What's New" award.

For some critics, the N95, which costs $700 USD off the shelf, is much too powerful to fit into the usual definition of cell phone: "It's not a phone; it's a multimedia device," was how Katie of shinyshiny.tv puts it. Besides the unique multiple sliding mechanism of the handset, the N95 has HSDPA connectivity, an integrated GPS, a digital music player, a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, a 2.6" QVGA 16 million color screen, ATI Gaming chip, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MicroSD card slot, EDGE and a 150 MB built-in memory.

According to Mark Jannot, editor of Popular Science: "Best of What's New is the ultimate Popular Science accolade, representing a year's worth of work evaluating thousands of products. These awards honor innovations that not only influence the way we live today, but that change the way we think about the future."

This is the second year in a row Nokia has taken the Popular Science award. In 2005, the N90 and the N91 were honored.
