The ever ambitious Nokia is at it again with their very first Windows phone. The Nokia Lumina 710 boasts the Windows Phone 7.5 operating system and definitely offers bang for your buck. With its 3.7 inch LCD display at a 480x800 resolution, you'll get a crystal clear, colorful image even in direct sunlight.
The smart phone runs a 1.4 GHz processor and has 512 MB RAM which will give you a lightning fast and smooth experience, regardless of what you are using your phone for.
If you're concerned about the call quality, have no fear. The smart phone has remarkable clarity, and no one will ever miss a word with the well-adjusted volume on the speakers and microphone. If you don't get good reception in your area, you may not get the full benefit of your network's capabilities; but you will still get a decent connection.
The phone also has a very neat, concise and user-friendly interface; however, this only applies internally. The "start", "search" and "back" buttons are all placed on a single plastic bar which causes some difficulty when trying to select one option, and the buttons themselves are not as responsive as they need to be. This problem also carries over to the camera and volume buttons.
As far as multimedia goes, the Lumina 710 is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash. The phone also will provide the user with access to the awesome Zune music service; and with an impressive, distortion-resistant external speaker you will be able to enjoy your music even without headphones.
Unfortunately, the Lumina 710 does not have the capability of having an SD card, and so you are limited to a tiny memory bank of 6GB. This phone may not be a groundbreaking juggernaut, but between the competitive price, great camera, good battery life, great UI and lag-free processing it will provide any user with a solid experience.
Need to know: Nokia Lumina 710
1. This phone exceeds its price range in terms of performance. You may not find another phone with the features and power of this one for such a low price. A solid entry-level smartphone for the first time buyer. (The Good)
2. If you spend a lot of time on the phone, the call clarity and reception combined with the bulky battery life will please you greatly. (The Good)
3. Unlike many smartphones, you won't be saving many pictures or songs on this one. With a miniscule 6GB of memory and no ability to expand it, you will feel pretty restricted in what you keep on your phone. (The Bad)
4. The physical user interface is not the best. If you are not particularly dexterous or used to small buttons, the plastic bar and volume/camera buttons may prove pretty frustrating for you. (TheBad)

- Richard Goodwin, Know Your MobileAll in all the Nokia Lumia 710 is an extremely competent smartphone. It looks good, has some very competitive hardware and comes packed with plenty of useful features and applications like Nokia Music, Drive and Maps. It’s also very well priced at £300, and while we’d definitely recommend the Lumia...
- Tan Ming Sin, Mobile88In terms of pricing, the Lumia 710 is priced at RM999, while the Lumia 800 is priced at RM1650. It is obvious that the Lumia 710 would be an economical choice over the Lumia 800. Plus, the Lumia 710 also offers the same simplistic OS (Microsoft Window Phone 7.5 Mango) and it comes with decent specs...
- Grant Hatchimonji, BrighthandThe Nokia Lumia 710 is a solid, if a bit basic, smartphone. The Windows Phone 7.5 OS and its Metro UI are definitely a matter of taste -- I can recognize that plenty do not love them like I do -- but if you're a fan of it, the this smartphones is a great way to get the full, most up-to-date experien...
- Daniel Bader, Mobile SyrupPriced at $49.99 on a 3-year term, and $254.99 on a month-to-month plan, the Lumia 710 is a bargain, especially for those unwilling to re-sign a contract. Though its screen and camera are no match for the more-expensive (and coming soon) Lumia 800, this is a fantastic entry-level smartphone and one...
- Chandrakant Isi, TechTreeThe Lumia 710 has a beautiful and fluid UI. Its specs are better than those of competing Androids. The phone excels in the music playback and camera departments. What's more, Nokia Drive gives it an edge over the competition. On the other hand, despite the handset's great performance, its average di...
