Nokia Xseries now Offical; X6 touchscreen, X3 slider phone get Announced

A few months back, rumors about a new Nokia Xseries started floating around. Fast forward to the present, it’s out of the rumor phase and is now official as Nokia just unveiled two devices under this new line at the start of Nokia World 2009 in Germany.

nokia x6The Nokia X6 is a new full-touchscreen phone that features a 3.2-inch display, 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, dual LED flash, A-GPS, Ovi Maps, access to Nokia Music store, TV-out, and 32GB of storage. Sounds pretty average? Well, then how about you add 35 hours of music playback to that list as well as on-device video editing, a full web browser with Flash Lite support and games such as Spore, DJ Mix Tour, and Ashpalt 4 to make it stand out a little bit more. It’s also their slimmest touchscreen phone to date measuring in at only 0.55-inches slim. The Nokia X6 is scheduled to hit the market in Q4 with a retail price of 459 Euros or roughly $652 in US currency sans carrier subsidies.

The Nokia X3, meanwhile, is the more modest one of the pair. It’s a new slider that comes with a 2.2-inch non-touchscreen display, 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1, dedicated music keys, stereo speakers, 3.5mm jack, and supports up to 16GB addition storage via microSD card slot. What’s unique about it, though, is that it’s the first S40-based device to come with Ovi Store enabled. The Nokia X3 is also slated to drop in Q4, but will be more affordable at just 115 Euros (about $163) before tax and subsidies.

As far as features go, there’s nothing extra-ordinarily new with the Xseries, but based on what we can tell so far with the X3 and X6, this new Nokia line looks like it’ll house the slimmest phones in their collection. So, what do you guys think of the Nokia Xseries so far?
