Apparently, a lot of new owners of Nokia’s brand-new touchscreen music phone have been disappointed with it due to its inability to connect to the internet that a significant number of them have been returning their units for a refund. To rule out network outages or weak signal strength, users have reported to have tested two Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phones next to each other and one was able to pick up 3G/3.5G signals while the other doesn’t.

The real culprit behind this issue is still yet to be known, but if we were you, we’d wait for the next batch of 5800 XpressMusic phones to arrive first before even considering on getting one. After all, the first batch is usually the ones laden with bugs and glitches, but come on now, we were actually expecting more quality control from the no. 1 mobile manufacturer in the world.

UPDATE: It seems that the New York Nokia flagship store has pulled the 5800 XpressMusic off their store shelves to prevent further retail of the device. Their US online store has also listed the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic as backordered which means that the problems are pretty serious and the allegations are true.
