News that BlackBerry phones will soon become available on Fido has grabbed headlines once again. This time around, it looks a little bit more plausible as word is that training is set to being sometime next week based on the information provided by our source.

The question is; which BlackBerry phone will it be? They say it could be the BlackBerry Pearl 8100, but considering that RIM has announced it end of life over a year ago, it means that it won’t be fresh new stock coming from the factories of RIM. It could come from parent company Rogers who probably still has some unsold stock of the Pearl 8100 lying around somewhere, but the problem with that it comes with the Rogers logo that’s been embedded into the firmware to appear when booting up. Sure, they could replace that, but it will be a very tedious process.

Could it be the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Flip then? Well, only time will tell and based on Fido/Rogers track record, we’ll just be happy if they don’t pull the plug on this one due to its leakage to the public.
