Samsung to unleash own Android phone in Q2 2009

We’ve seen and heard about a couple of Android phones for countries outside of the US, but now, Samsung has just made known their plans for their own Android-based phone in the US.

The second quarter of 2009 will be the launch period for both a Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile Android offering. Word is that the phone will inherit most of the design features of the Omnia and Instict (read: full touchscreen with minimal physical buttons), but we’re hoping that they consider adding a QWERTY-keypad into the mix. That’s it for now, but considering that 2009 is less than two weeks away, we’ll probably get some more juicy info about this Samsung Android phone in the early part of the next year.
