When we hear the name Vertu, we usually expect a well crafted and elegantly designed handset that oozes sophistication worthy of its uber-expensive price tag. However, their latest offering which commemorates the 150th anniversary of Boucheron French jewelry house is a bit too eccentric for our personal taste.

Aptly named the Vertu Boucheron 150, the overall design is unmistakably Vertu, but it trades in the polished look and finish of its contemporaries for a more rustic feel. Based on the report, the phone is hand made from a massive single piece of gold and took a total of 2,000 hours to complete. It’ll come packaged in a wooden case with a similar design feature and is rumored to be priced above the $30,000 mark. As for its specs, not much was revealed except for 3G connectivity, but considering that Vertu phones aren’t really known for their high-end features, we’re already satisfied to hear that the Boucheron 150 comes with 3G.

Its availability in the market wasn’t mentioned, but I reckon if you’ve got the Vertu concierge on speed dial, you can probably ring them up to get more details regarding this enormously extravagant handset.
