Palm may have a real iPhone killer in its hands. Maybe it's the cheap retail price ($99.9) or maybe it's the form factor, the Centro being the smallest Palm smartphone to date. Whatever the reasons, Centro is definitely a hot item in the ten countries where it is distributed.
One possible reason for the Centro's success is the increasing desirability of smartphones. Already smartphones have taken 11% of the handset market. By 2011, it is predicted over one-third (35%) of mobile phones will be smartphones. About 70 per cent of Centro users are new to smartphones.
