Banking on the popularity of the Galaxy S4, Samsung is releasing this June a new handset that's packaged as a "mini" version of the five-inch flagship. The Galaxy S4 mini has a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display and, unlike its bigger counterpart, has specs usually found in mid-range Android phones. Under the hood, there's a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor, a smaller 1900 mAh battery, and just 8GB of internal memory, although there's a microSD slot for up to 64GB of additional storage. On the software side, the S4 mini comes with a number of TouchWiz features found in its bigger sibling, including Sound&Shot, Panorama Shot, and Story Album photo features, as well as the new S Health and S Translator apps. Samsung has not announced pricing and specific availability.

- Other specs of the S4 mini include 1.5GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.9-megapixel snapper on the front, and Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system.
- The Mini will have three versions -- 3G, dual-SIM, and 4G -- and will be available in two color variants: White Frost and Black Mist.
- Samsung on April 26 released the full-sized Galaxy S4, which features a 5-inch super OLED screen, 1.9GHz quad-core or 1.6GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 13MP and 2MP cameras.
- The Galaxy S4 is Samsung's fastest-selling smartphone to date, shipping 10 million units in its first month.
