call comes in and it rings but can not answer  why

I just have a regular Samsung cell phone only for calls. When people call me, I can't remember how to answer, other than flipping open the top. However, I still can't answer. I don't use it very often. Can you remind me how to answer a call? Thank you for your assistance in this request.
