Just set up my new phone yesterday, at first, the wi-fi was fine, but after a few hours the happy green color of the wi-fi icon started going white. Now it always seems to be having trouble, it doesn't seem to "like" my wi-fi. It is constantly "obtaining IP address" even though it worked in the beginning. Would the "wi-fi protected setup" help? I don't know what it means and the "Quick start guide" that came with the phone is seriously lacking in detailed information.
Restart your phone and/or your router. Then check after if you can use Wi-Fi without any problem.
WPS stands for Wi-Fi Protected Setup. WPS is a broken network security standard that attempts to allow users to easily secure a wireless home network. source
