If last resort is to factory reset, here's what to do if stock on starting app screen:
1. Hold down on/off button and volume together for 15 seconds to force a system reboot.
2. As soon as it reboots and Android logo shows up hold down camera button till root directory shows up. This will bring you to safe mode startup.
3. Follow instructions, pick selection on how you want to start your XP7.
Works with me, my phone lockup on starting app screen for days after system update on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Have to pick Factory Reset.
