The Samsung R455C slider is the first slider I've used.  How do I use the symbols on the slider keyboard?  I always turn off the predictive word feature?

This is only my second day with the phone, and so far, I love it!

Oops, I forgot to ask why photos I take, holding the phone in the vertical position end up horizontal.
