JBL is still holding it’s excellent reputation with its Bluetooth speakers on the market and the Flip 5 is no exception. Just as the former model, it is a great choice in the compact, durable Bluetooth speaker category. While it does not provide a huge improvement over the Flip 4, it sounds a bit better and sports a newer charging port. Although the Flip 5 remained a solid choice on the market, I do not recommend upgrading from a Flip 4.

A worthy update

from Sound Guys

The Flip 5 is a worthy successor to the Flip 4 and if you're going to be heading out for a weekend trip or just going to the backyard, these are definitely worth the asking price.

Killer sound with different color options

Again, having used JBL in the past, it’s nice to know that they’re still offering great sound in their speakers, especially with the Flip 5. Other than the great sound, battery life, a simple design, and ease of use make the JBL Flip 5 worth picking up.

What Hi-Fi

May not be feature-packed, but sounds great

JBL’s latest offering sounds great for the price. If you don’t mind the lack of in-app EQ settings, aux-in port, battery life, inbuilt microphones or partnering with older JBL speakers, it’s an excellent proposition for the money. It may be low on added extras, but the Flip 5 gets away with...More

If you don’t mind the lack of in-app EQ settings, aux-in port, battery life, inbuilt microphones or partnering with older JBL speakers, it’s an excellent proposition for the money. It may be low on added extras, but the Flip 5 gets away with it. The solid sonic chops JBL has managed to deliver at this level simply cannot be denied.

Pocket-lint

The prince of portable

from Pocket-lint

With notable improvements over the Flip 4, this portable Bluetooth speaker ticks the small-scale, waterproof, bass-hitting and good-sounding boxes. There's no 360-degree sound design like some of the competition, though, which might see you look elsewhere instead.

Flip gets even better

from Gadget Guy

Impressive JBL Flip 5 – as are other JBL speakers. Loud, proud and great JBL sound – what more do you need. As it has improved on the Flip 4 it has to rate even better.
