As far as encryption goes, SkyVPN uses the best, offering 256-bit AES encryption alongside all the underlying protocols. SkyVPN’s server network is severely limited. The results of our speed test were very disappointing, placing SkyVPN among the slowest of the VPNs we tested so far. DNS leak testing is another crucial area where SkyVPN fails to impress. One of the basic functions of a VPN is to enable its users to sta...

SkyVPN could be better – a lot better. The VPN provides a very lacking amount of servers and offers extremely slow internet speeds. They claim to provide a secure connection, but our tests showed us our DNS was still visible. There’s a lot of room for improvement for SkyVPN; they seem to lack the fu...

As far as free VPNs go, SkyVPN is one of the worst we’ve tested. Performance absolutely dire, meaning you’ve got no hope of doing anything more than checking a few emails, there’s no access to popular streaming sites such as Netflix or BBC iPlayer, and the apps currently only work on iOS and Android...

As far as encryption goes, SkyVPN uses the best, offering 256-bit AES encryption alongside all the underlying protocols. The company is also very up-front about not keeping logs.

The main complaints about SkyVPN center around the low number of server countries and their dismal customer support. And the premium service is probably not worth even the low additional cost. SkyVPN is a good choice for a free VPN that makes it easy to accrue more bandwidth as needed. However, they need to offer more features and server locations to justify a premium service charge.

SkyVPN’s server network is severely limited. The results of our speed test were very disappointing, placing SkyVPN among the slowest of the VPNs we tested so far. DNS leak testing is another crucial area where SkyVPN fails to impress. One of the basic functions of a VPN is to enable its users to stay completely anonymous while surfing the web. Sadly, SkyVPN is not very reliable in that regard.

SkyVPN could be better – a lot better. The VPN provides a very lacking amount of servers and offers extremely slow internet speeds. They claim to provide a secure connection, but our tests showed us our DNS was still visible. There’s a lot of room for improvement for SkyVPN; they seem to lack the fundamentals of a good VPN. Their redeeming features are their access to Netflix and a clean interface. Overall, a weak offer considering the price.

As far as free VPNs go, SkyVPN is one of the worst we’ve tested. Performance absolutely dire, meaning you’ve got no hope of doing anything more than checking a few emails, there’s no access to popular streaming sites such as Netflix or BBC iPlayer, and the apps currently only work on iOS and Android. SkyVPN brings nothing to the table in terms of privacy, not even disclosing its chosen method of encryption or VPN protocol. Its privacy policy is laughable, contradicting itself every other sentence. Avoid if at all possible.
